Director, Credit Risk Review

The Director, Retail Credit Risk Review is responsible for the third line of defense assessment of select retail lending portfolios and related Credit Review activities.
S/he oversees a team of credit review officers, as well as the planning, scheduling, and execution of asset quality assessment examinations and continuous monitoring of all retail lending units within the Santander Bank, N.

organization.
This includes the assessment of overall asset quality; the quantity and direction of risk; compliance with established underwriting policies, procedures, limits, concentrations, and regulations; and the assimilation of information from portfolio monitoring activity.
The incumbent assists in the development of the Annual Plan and recommends changes to the Plan based on developing risk variables.
The Director, Retail Credit Risk Review reviews written summary reports of subordinates, prepares final review reports, and has primary responsibilities for the communication of review and continuous monitoring findings to line and senior management.
S/he is an industry expert with specialized knowledge of retail lending, including best practices for credit risk management and third line of defense assessment of new and emerging lending channels.
Responsibilities:
Assists with the development of the Annual Plan and special projects; and represent Credit Risk Review in various company projects.
Attends approval committees and participate in watch reviews, promontorios, HLT and other credit events.
Communicates verbally and non-verbally in an open and effective manner appropriate to the situation and the individual.
Completes Continuous Monitoring summaries of portfolios as assigned.
Ensures group results are effectively communicated to relevant stakeholders through management presentations and reports.
Manages a team of credit review officers so as to effectively carry out the timely execution of the examination schedule, including participation in sampling activity, reviewing summary reports.
Monitors / tests the accuracy of assigned credit risk ratings, through onsite and offsite reviews.
Potential to assist with onsite and offsite reviews as needed.
Prepares final review summary report, including synthesis of individual file review results, overall segment review findings, and determination of overall assessment scores.
Reviews analytics, continuous monitoring MIS reports and other presentations to stay abreast and ahead of the quantity, trend and direction of risk in the assigned commercial portfolios.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree; in Accounting, Finance, Economics, IT or equivalent field.
Master's Degree; in Accounting, Finance, Economics, IT or equivalent field.
,or equivalent work experience.
9-12 years' experience Banking experience Finance (e.
g.
CFA) certifications desired.

, derivatives, prime services, fund linked products, repo and securities lending Solid diplomatic skills with the ability to resolve conflict Strong knowledge of Commercial Loan policies/procedures, underwriting analysis, credit monitoring, problem loan management, and portfolio management Strong organizational and people management skills, including the development and training of staff and the recruitment and retention of talent Strong understanding of credit, market, and industry risks Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong working knowledge of loan procedures and policies Understands pertinent regulatory issues and impact on credit risk.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
